Super Bowl Sunday is a big day for football fans, and that is why Briar Cliff University hosted an event just for that reason.
The game was shown by projection on Stark Stage and Aramark Food Service put out a spread of game food, food that has been popular in the past says Assistant Food Director Tim Goldamer.
“We ran patty melts with onion and no onion, cheddar bratwurst, waffle fries, and then an open faced meatloaf patty,” says Goldamer.
Students at Briar Cliff were expecting spreads from previous years, but were content with what was given.
“I thought last year was a little better but this year is just fine.”
“I was looking forward to last years super bowl food, with the wings. It was still decent.”
Goldamer says the chicken wings that were so popular were not served due to demand.
“We could not keep up. We did not have them last year and we ran a similar menu to this and it was pretty popular so that is why we went with this one, people liked it.”
Overall the event was a success with a Ravens win of 34-31 over the 49ers leaving some students disappointed.
“49s, that’s my team.”
