The 2013 the indoor season has been another dose of steady progression for the Briar Cliff Chargers track and field teams.
The Chargers have not only shattered personal records, but they've racked up several school and conference records along with 6 athletes who qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio on March 28th.
The Chargers have been led this season by sophomore Raheem Cowan, who boasts the top conference and national mark in the triple jump with a distance of 15.55 meters.
The Hartwell, Georgia native has blown away the field so far this Winter, but he knows that his best competition lies ahead with the conference and national championships looming.
Outside of Cowan, the Chargers other national qualifiers include Seniors Tara Cockerill, Bryce Harshman, Clay Pagels, and Cory Hollamon as well as Freshman Stephanie Rohe, qualified in the 55 meter hurdles after transferring to Briar Cliff in January.
With nationals right around the corner, the Chargers are hoping for a little edge as they compete for a conference title at the GPAC conference meet Saturday in Lincoln.
