The Briar Cliff Jazz Ensemble held their first performance at El Fredos Pizza last Thursday. Director Bob Gibson has been directing the band since it’s beginning. He is a middle and elementary school band director full-time but says he enjoys teaching college-age students.
Senior Dom Nelson plays guitar for the band and says he enjoys jazz because of how different it is from rock or metal. He says that his favorite part is the improvisation that comes from it.
